The Discover Nature (DNS) program includes engaging and hands-on outdoor learning featuring Missouri’s flora, fauna and ecosystems. This workshop on Nature Unleashed (for grades 3rd- 5th ) highlights three Missouri ecosystems (Prairie, Pond and Forest). Topics include living/non-living, plant and animal adaptations, predator/prey relationships and food chains/webs of the three ecosystems.
Nature Unleashed is correlated to Missouri Learning Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards making it easy to incorporate into your existing curriculum.
During the training participants will explore the teacher guide, student book, science notebook and the online portal. Participants will experience for themselves the activities and outdoor learning in a mock field experience.
Teachers will become certified to receive the DNS grant funds for learning materials, outdoor classroom materials and field trips for their schools.
Participants should bring their lunch and appropriate clothing for the weather.
