Foxglove CA

About this Area

Total Acres

The Conservation Deparment purchased the area from Claude H. and Marian E. Fine in 1990.

This 54-acre area is one of the few high quality native prairies remaining in the western section of the Glaciated Plains. The area supports the second largest population of auriculate false foxglove in the state.

Management of the area consists of mowing, mechanical tree removal and prescribed burning to promote native prairie plants and wildlife.
