This was one of the first Community Assistance Program agreement projects by the Missouri Department of Conservation. This agreement was renewed in 2006.

The area's facilities include two paved parking areas, a concrete boat ramp, and courtesy boat dock.

The area is prone to flooding when the Mississippi River approaches flood stage.

From Highway 61 at Canton, take Highway 16 east 1 mile, then 4th Street north two blocks, then Henderson Street east, and Front Street south to the access.
