Bellefontaine Conservation Area is in north St. Louis County within the city of Bellefontaine Neighbors. The area is 133 acres in size and is situated in the southeast corner of the Highway 367/270 interchange. The area can be accessed from Highway 367, about 0.50 mile south of I-270 via a driveway that is shared with the Missouri Veteran's Home.

This tract of land was previously owned by the Missouri Department of Mental Health and was transferred to the Conservation Department in 1995. The Conservation Department was interested in this property because it provided a unique opportunity for urban fishing and conservation-related educational facilities. 

The area is open daily from sunrise until one-half hour after sunset.

Area is open from sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset.
From I-270, take Highway 367 south about 0.50 mile to the Missouri Veterans Home entrance, then Veterans Home driveway east to the area entrance.
