Pond to Plate

Join us and learn how to clean and prepare most species of common Missouri fish. We'll start the afternoon off catching a few fish at Binder Lake in Jefferson City. Then we'll clean the fish that we caught. We'll also prepare those fish using some favorite methods. Participants will be able to sample what we cook The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will provide all necessary equipment. This program is appropriate for adults and families with children over the age of 10.

Nature Art

Nature's Needlers is a monthly series featuring a nature presentation along with a customized quilt block pattern to take home and complete at your own pace. The 2024 theme is "Missouri's Conservation Success Stories." For July, Runge volunteer Paul Winn will present on the endangered Hine’s emerald dragonfly. This will be the 7th quilt block in the series. Registration required. Ages 18+

Join us at Runge's puppet show, "Are You Talking to Me?!" It's going to be a super fun time filled with lots of noisy laughter and animal chatter! No registration required. All ages

Grab your hiking stick for a guided hike of Rocky Top Trail at Lake of the Ozarks State Park (Camden County); 2.5 miles – moderate. Meet at Runge Nature Center or the trailhead. Some transportation is provided but carpooling may be necessary. Hike leaders will contact participants before the hike to give directions if needed. Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, bring a water bottle, and pack a lunch/snack. Registration required. Ages 18+

Missouri is home to some marvelous mammals! Join us in learning about these animals through natural artifacts like skulls and furs. There will be ongoing touch tables and coloring pages for all ages. No registration required. All ages
