Don't let inexperience keep you from enjoying Missouri's great outdoors. Women 14 years and older can gain the skills and confidence to pursue outdoor activities alone or with friends and family. Regional Discover Nature Women events occur throughout the year, allowing you to participate in a local workshop almost any time. Many of these events are hunts that include in-depth clinics addressing wildlife biology, regulations, firearm training and safety, specific hunting-method training, as well as cleaning and care of the game. Find a Discover Nature Women workshop near you.

(Adults Only)
Join the Missouri Department of Conservation's Nature Journaling group as we explore some of Missouri's native birds in the Saint Louis Zoo's 1904 World’s Fair Flight Cage! We will first meander through the Flight Cage to observe the birds and discuss a little of their story - their role in Missouri's ecosystems. Then we will focus on a brief lesson, which will include how to quickly sketch the birds. Yes they move - and yes it may be a challenge, but there are techniques that you can employ to help capture as much as possible in your journal. Additional techniques will be discussed to help participants add useful information on their journal pages to create fun and vibrant entries. NOTE: If it is raining, we will meet inside the Bird House which is an enclosed building - and separate from the Flight Cage. Space is limited, so please register at: August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area at (636) 441-4554.
